What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word.  All 66 books of the Old and New Testaments were written by men and divinely inspired by the Spirit of God.  As such, they are inerrant, authoritative, sufficient, and true.  The Bible contains all that we need in order to know God as well as understand His commands, receive His provision, and trust His promises.

We believe in one true God.  God has eternally existed as one essence in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  Each person is fully God and equal in nature.  God is perfectly holy, sovereign, and good and worthy of our worship, honor, and devotion.

We believe that God created everything.  God created everything from nothing and perfectly governs all things in all places at all times.  As a part of His sinless creation, God made human beings, male and female, in His own image.  Humanity was created to be God’s agents to care for and govern His creation, while simultaneously living in holy fellowship with Him.

We believe that sin separates us from God. Through the temptation of Satan, Adam and Eve broke the command of God and fell from their original position of righteousness.  That original sin fractured all things.  All of humanity has now inherited a corrupt nature that has separated them from God and is in opposition to God and His law.  Unable to save themselves, mankind is hopelessly lost and condemned to death.

We believe that Jesus is our redeemer. Before time began, God had a plan to rescue His people back to Himself.  Jesus Christ, the one and only son of God, is the divinely appointed mediator between God and man.  Born of a virgin, He took on human nature and lived a perfect life without sin, fulfilling the law and the prophets.  On the cross where He was crucified, the sins of all who would trust in Him were placed upon Him and the wrath of God was poured out on Him.  He was the perfect, sinless sacrifice that paid the just penalty for sin.  He was buried, rose again on the third day, and ascended to heaven, where He sits at the right hand of the Father, praying for His people.

We believe that salvation is a free gift.  All who repent of their sins and place their trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior will be forgiven, declared righteous, adopted as children of God, and given the promise of an eternity spent with Him in heaven.  Salvation cannot be achieved by our merit.  It is simply received by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.

We believe in the Church. God designed His people to gather together into local congregations who care for each other, grow to become more like Jesus, and make disciples among all nations.  They observe the ordinances of Christ, are governed by His laws, receive His teachings, and exercise their gifts to serve one another.

We believe in a final day of judgment. God has appointed a day when Christ will descend from heaven to judge the living and the dead.  Those found to be without saving faith in Christ will be condemned, along with Satan and his demons, to an eternal punishment in hell.  The righteous in Christ, however, will be received into everlasting glory where they will live in perfect fellowship with God in heaven.  They will finally be free from sin and free from the effects of sin, to the praise of His glorious grace.

Our Mission

We are disciples of Christ, rooted in the Word of God, growing to be more like Jesus, and making an impact on one another, our community, and the nations.
